This occasion is a continuing effort by Co-Lin to promote the great business climate of the College district, surrounding areas and ultimately Mississippi. With an emphasis on economic development, Co-Lin, through efforts in many departments including Workforce Education, has embarked on a regional work ready initiative. This work ready initiative focuses on documenting the skills of the Mississippi workforce using the ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate® (ACT® WorkKeys® NCRC®), which gives job seekers an advantage in launching or advancing careers no matter their location.
Also, the benefits for employers are noteworthy, as they are assisted by the Initiative in identifying exactly what foundational skills applicant possess. Not to mention the potential to improve retention, reduce hiring time and reduce training time. The bottom line is all aspects of our workforce benefit from this initiative.
Individuals interested in taking the ACT® WorkKeys® should call Copiah-Lincoln Community College Workforce Education at 601.643.8707 to schedule an assessment. Locations and upcoming dates are available at https://workforce.colin.edu/calendar/all/. There is no charge for first time assessments.
